The exhibit was not active when I visited that part. I got to see the tooling but it would have been a lot better to see it in action!

My mother got interested in chasing our family's genealogy and that search took us to colonial Jamestown and Williamsburg. While we were there I got to visit the gunsmith shop several times. For me this was the most fantastic site of the entire property. Sad to hear the shop is not operating now, hope this is only a temporary or seasonal shut-down. Or, perhaps, they may be having a hard time finding skilled craftsmen to staff that role. That would be more logical.
