I would expect the cutter to stay sharp longer than cutting 70 9x19 cases. That last 5 or 6 it just pushed the brass to the sides causing mr to use my deburring tool twice on each case to reach the desired length.

Does any one know how to sharpen one? Does any one make a hardened steel or carbide copy?

Call Lee precision and complain, they may send you a new one.

I have used these in several calibers and the hardness seems to be a **** shoot. Some last while others don't. They can be sharpened if you are good at sharpening things. A friend keeps several and writes the caliber on his. He rotates them when they get dull, switching to a different caliber thus cutting with a different part of the cutter. I've also had a few with either soft studs or soft pins that would wear and change the case length. The steel hardness was my biggest gripe. I wish someone made a carbide cutter!
