I have a chaparral in 50/95 WCF I purchased from CDNN when they were closing them out at $599.00

It’s serial number is in the 2200’s and I have never had a single problem with it.

It is extremely accurate with my smokeless handloads and 350 grain WFN bullets.

5 shots offhand at 100 yards:

My only complaints about the Chaparral are the wood on the rock is somewhat soft and the trigger pull is considerably stiffer than I’d like.

GARD, I’d always been fascinated by the 1876 and read all I could on the forums about these rifles and the problems people had with them and I can tell you I was fairly apprehensive about the purchase but figured I’d gamble at that price and see what happens.

So far I have run about 750-800 smokeless handloads through it and it’s never skipped a beat.

It did take me a while to find a load that what would group the way I’d like but once I cracked that nut it’s been a wonderful addition to my levergun stable.

It hurts my feelings that Jamison/Captech no longer offer brass in this caliber as some of my original 50 cases are starting to split from uses (figure they’ve been loaded about 16 times each).

I have another 100 count bag of 50/95 cases that’s been unopened since 2012 and it looks like I’ll have to bust it out here soon.

So far I haven’t hunted with it and maybe I’ll haul it out for a springtime hog hunt but my schedule may not allow for that.

Good evening
We have two.. 1876's in 50-95 and a 45-60 "Monte". Both are high #s and bought from CDNN for closeout prices. Both rifles shoot great and flawlessly. With 3F loads to equal original velocities both will stay at or under 3 inches at 100 yards off cross sticks.
Only issue we found was the 50-95 rear ladder sight was "loose" at the hinge. No issue as I wanted a full buckhorn on it anyway. With it 200 yard shots on a round 8 inch gong are easy.232928232929
