Hasn't anyone ever considered a cartridge like this for our caliber inserts?

Owned an ex West Point Hoffer that, unlike most, had a perfect bore. Put a no drill Belding & Mull mount on it with a Winchester A5 scope. In spite of the big bullet jump, it would shoot 22 short match ammo well enough to score 50' possibles.

Was fun at the range as everyone was waiting for the roar of an 06. Surprised when it went "Pfffft".

I'm sure a machinist could reproduce these to work fine.

Interesting. I do have some caliber inserts myself. Mine are single shot types. They do make quite a few different types and calibers for many different guns. I sort of like the cartridge setup so you can operate the action and keep on firing until you expended all of the conversion rounds. I don't remember seeing those Hoffer Thompson conversion cartridges before.

GPC or Sarco used to list those as "In Stock".
I have one somewhere.

Most HT cartridge inserts were destroyed by the horrible priming of the day. Instructions were to keep a pail of soda ash water right there and put the fired ones in it immediatly.
