I whipped up one of my Saturday afternoon Specials so it wouldn't have to go naked, and Hope to get to the range next Saturday.

Off topic question. What does TALO mean. Have seen the term but no definition. Thanks.

http://www.taloinc.com/about-us/

TALO is a wholesale buying cooperative that was started in 1965 by fishing and hunting wholesalers in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma. TALO commissions limited editions of firearms from Colt, Glock, Ruger, and North American Arms, Mossberg, Sig Arms, Walther and distributes them to stocking sporting goods dealers across the US.

I guess it stands for Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma.

Happy Birthday (belated)! That’s one heck of a present, bet it’ll be a good one.

Very nice.

TALO firearms tend to have better triggers than the same out of the box factory offerings. I have a TALO J-frame 642 , as well as a stock 642.................the triggers are like day and night.

Rintinglen, congratulations on making it another year and for having such a nice new gun to celebrate your trip around the sun. If that holster is an example of something you can "whip up" on a Saturday afternoon, you are a talented leatherworker as well. I'm curious though... on my monitor it looks (in both images) as though there were some little silvery or white thingees resting on the monogramed letters. Is that an optical delusion or are they actually there with purpose?

Yes, they are supposed to look like that. They are embellishments on the letter stamps that I painted white, merely for the sake of art.

If it will shoot to the sights with a 240 swc around 900-1000 fps I'm giddy for you.

Gotcha! I was on my iPad and couldn’t quite figure out what was going on. That holster looks quite professional, and if the initials were “GF” in green or even CBS (my “real” ones) it would be perfect!

Would you believe it? I was not the only person who wanted to try out a new toy Yesterday, the range was crowded and the wait was an estimated 45 minutes to an hour, so Shorty remains untried. Maybe Thursday, if I get the Christmas Ornaments put away.

Finally got to shoot my new pistola and it took only 5 shots to convince me that this is a 44 special, not a 44 magnum. The typical ill-fitting Ruger Grips have got to go. Does anyone have experience with Altamont or Eagle aftermarket grips?

I have real stag grips for my BH / ROA made by Eagle. However, they are the same configuration of the standard wood grips. When I hunt, because it's cold outside, I switch to the Pachmayr rubber grips.

Also have a set of Eagle stags for my Python, but they are much smaller than the standard walnut target style grips.
