357mag 180gr velocities

Curious how many guys have chrono’d your hot 180gr 357 load, especially out of shorter revolvers.

Just worked up 180 LBT-WFN GC(22bhn)load for my 3” SP101, top end is running 1140fps, stings a little😁

Having owned a few SP 101s in .357 magnum, including a 3", and you are far more recoil tolerant than I am. Buffalo Bore gets 1301 fps out of a 3" J Frame with a 180 grain FN. I really could not imagine how much fun that would be.

My NOE 180 gr wfn is going little over 1200 fps from my 6 inch gp 100 .

My 180 sil mold drops boolits of 190 gr over 11.5 gr of 2400 = 1250 fps in my 16 inch barreled trapper .I'd guess in a revolver about 1000fps.

Alliant shows some pretty fast numbers with their 300-MP powder. Anyone tried it?

That does sound impressive, a 10” test barrel with no cylinder gap doesn’t say much for what it will do in a short revolver but it would be fun to try!

My 10" contender, NOE 180 WFN sized .360 over 13.8 gr H110 is getting about 1360fps , 12.6 gr. of AA#9 does around 1400 fps. if my memory serves me right. I will edit this post if my notes show different.
