Remington Model 8 question

If I load a single round in the magazine of my Remington Model 8 (35 Rem) and hit the bolt release, the bolt picks up the round and closes perfectly. But, if I put two or more rounds in the magazine, the bolt picks up the first round but does not close completely. I can force it shut and fire the round, and the case ejects and the bolt closes completely on the following rounds - it's just that first round. Any ideas or suggestions?

Go to the great model eight forum. Good guys over there that know their stuff. I've owned three m81s and they were problem free so I'm no help.

I do not remember having any problems like that with mine. But it may just be the magazine lips need to be pushed in very very slightly to help keep the next cartridge from trying to feed in too. I would also suggest going to the Model 8 forum and ask there as they are a lot more knowledgeable about it.
