This is what I have 454 Ruger SRH 7.5" barrel, old pic but it is wearing Houge grips now.

I need to find something to carry this thing around while deer/bear hunting. Any suggestions?

Me, I’d be looking for a bandoleer type holster. I was going to buy the same revolver you have but wound up with a Smith 460. I want a holster that will rest its weight on my shoulder. I plan to use the 460 for hunting once I get it rigged out.

This is what I use. It is a TC shoulder holster made for a scoped contender. It holds every 7-1/2" to 10" revolver, scope or red dot.
I removed the velcro because of the noise it makes and put a strap on it. I put a series of snaps so the cover will work with any gun I stuff in it. It is the most versatile holster I ever tried.

Get a Limber for that artillery piece. A little red wagon should do well.
For a gun that size, I'd use a piece of leather and cut a slot for the barrel and drill and tap a sling swivel in the butt and get a wide sling and let'er hang over my shoulder. Then your hands would be free for a pair of cains to hold you upright and help you walk. While this sounds in jest, this is how I handgun hunt anyway. Even if I am using a holster. I can go over any steep grade and I always have a shooting stick when needed if there are no trees around.

I'll bet. Lunch can fit in that sucker.

Bass, notice the sling stud on the butt? The 6' utility sling Midsouth sells is perfect to hang the gun right at hand height. [smilie=s:
