Loading 200 grain cast PC coated boolits in 45 GAP using Longshot. 6.0 per Hodgen's load data. primers are WSP. loaded up around 100 rounds or so. checked powder levels, all dumps where right at 6.0.
These rounds are throwing un-burnt powder out of the muzzle like a party popper. first round i thought i might have had a squib but there was a hole in the target, torn the slide off and checked, thought it was just a fluke, tried another few rounds with the same results. I had to hand cycle the slide. I had a only one or two actually fully burn and cycle the action. the powder is fine, used in 460 Rowland with no issues. Used the same primers with titegroup and no issues with that powder and everything cycled, gun ran fine.
I will try Long shot with some other types of primers to see if that helps. Maybe get another pound to see if it is in fact the powder, but the same powder works in other calibers.
Other thoughts?
