Late night lurk find on epay.
Merrit #4 Hunter.
Looks good on my 1894, hoping it helps a bit with my tired eyes. A lot easier than carrying several different peeps, just dial and shoot!

Good morning
You bet-cha that is a good find !! We have been over the years putting receiver sights on all our lever flippers. That Merrit is a jewel.

There was a time I used them but any more in the woods I use Williams Twi Lite or no aperature. I find nothing faster to get on running game at ranges under 100yds.

I love peep sights on a level gun. Personally I think its blasphemy to put a scope on one.

I put a peep on my Winchester 94. It was the best thing I ever did. Groups shrank 50%, who would have guessed it could make such a difference?
For hunting I remove the peep insert and use the hole as a ghost ring. This makes it quick to use and good in low light.

Very nice. I have a Merit adjustable iris like yours, and like it very much.

I used it this past weekend at a silhouette shoot on my 1895CB with a williams sight, made a big difference! Very pleased with it!

Ut oh don't look at any of mine! But I have a degenerative eye disease and have to have help seeing.
Never liked scopes but now I can't see the front sight clearly so I'm forced to use scopes on all my rifles .ageing ain't fun .

Out of the 6 Lever Guns I own. One is scoped, one has Buckhorn sights and the others are all Williams or Skinner peep sights. Love peep sights, I am more accurate off hand with the peeps than with a scope.
