357 Mag load for rifle - Bullseye powder

Wanting to load some 357 Magnum rounds for use in a Marlin 1894C 357 Mag rifle. Using Bullseye at the low end, 6.2gr per the Lyman Cast Bullet book. Bullet is a 158gr flat nose, from a Lee mold. Only loading 15 test rounds. After charging 6 cases I came to a question. With Bullseye being a faster powder, would it work alright in a rifle as opposed to a slower powder?

Bullseye will work in a .357 rifle if you are willing to settle for a lower velocity load.

I use Bullseye in my .357 rifles for low-noise, heavy bullet rook rifle type rounds, and also for use in .357 snubbies to approximate the performance of .38 Special +P ammo from .357 brass to reduce bullet jump, improve accuracy and to avoid the "crud ring" in the chamber from firing lots of .38 Specials in my .357s.

3.5 grains Bullseye 914 fps, 19 Sd, ten shots 1.58" at 50 yds.

Winchester 158-grain JHP
5.0 Bullseye 952 fps, 23 Sd
6.0 Bullseye 1230 fps 24, Sd

Hunter's Supply .358" 190-grain Lead FN, 1.59" OAL
4.2 Bullseye 1078 fps 8 Sd, Avg. five consecutive 10-shot groups at 100 yards 2.88"
