Nice deer and nice carbine! Is that an old Bushnell 2-1/2x?

Good shooting.
What velocities do you get with the 10gr Blue Dot?

10 great blue dot is my go to load for the .357. Not the most potent, but plenty of juice.

unknown. have not chrono'd this particular load. Just know that the gun likes it.

BTW, Tumble lube with White Lable 45/45/10.

Gee, I thought you needed some kind of belted magnum and premium bullets that cost $5 apiece to kill a deer these days (I hope the sarcasm is evident).

Congrats, nice deer, nice rifle.

Am I the only one not seeing something that I'm supposed to be seeing?
My Blackhawk gets a 158 grain cast bullet going a little more than 1000 ft/sec with 10.0 grains of BlueDot.

..If you are looking for entry/exit it was a tail shot.

Yes thats an old Bushnell 2.5X

10 gr Bluedot isnt my hottest load that works well in that gun. Best is 15.3gr H110 with that bullet, but with a GC.

I just didnt have time, and these were in my shelf. [emoji3]

Tail shot as in the old Texas heart shot; well it works seen it often enough. That one looks
Like good eating and a sharp little carbine as well

Greetings and Congratulations ! Nice looking fodder for the table !
"Through the grill doors" has always been a favored shot in a tank company ! Lots of penetration through thin armor right to the heart of matters.

Ah yes, the old Texas Heart Shot. I've used it myself and it also worked for me. Congratulations and looks like the ammo you used did a right good job. I totally understand about not having time to load for a particular firearm and just use what you have. I did it this year also.

Last time my Dad tail shot one I told him if he did it again he would be cleaning it. (Joke LOL) My dad is closing in on 80 I would clean it and rib him about it with him laughing at me from the tail gait of truck. We still talk and laugh about that one.

Agreed!
It's never really a pleasent process, but a gut shot (or now a tail shot) is even worse.

The only thing worse is rabbits. My hands stink for 3 days. [emoji1786]

Shot one square in the chest once. I thought is was going to be a mess inside, but wasn't too bad. Of course the chest slowed the boolit down quite a bit before it got into the guts. A full power 30-06 probably would have been a different story. Found the boolit about 3 feet deep in the deer. Did you recover your boolit? How far did it run?
