Reports on American Pioneer Powder?

Has anyone tried the American Pioneer powders also sold as Shockey's gold?
I was thinking about trying it but the reports on Cabela's product reviews are mixed. So I'm confused.

I've used APP in .44 and .40 caliber CAS gunz. Your milage may vary -- I've found it to be corrosive, inconsistent and expensive -- your milage may vary. Black powder seems to be the best choice for black powder gunz. Your milage may vary.
