I am going to slug my barrel and want to make sure about my choice of lead.
Went to Wally World, bought some egg shaped sinkers, melted them into a fired 45 Colt case.

There’s some funky looking slag for lack of a better description on top of the melted lead. Will this hurt my barrel any?

Thanks for the help, hunter966.

Nah just some impurities in the lead. Half the time I don't even melt down the egg sinkers, just clip off the metal eyelet if there is one and Hammer her on down.

A few passes with a file should remove it. If these are a square edge you might cut a bevel on the edge with a lee chamfer tool or file to ease into rifling better and help it to center up easier.
