Lever rifle slings?

I have an old 1886 octagon barrel Winchester. It does not have any sling mounts but I would need a sling. I have been working on designs for a long time. Made a few prototype models. I like stuff that looks "period correct" so I am not a fan of modern stuff. I obviously dont want to damage the rifle in any way(installing sling mounts..etc).
I am also aware of companies like brass stacker slings that make slings that just slip on to rifles. Those are the type designs that I ahve been working on, but Im still not satisfied.
So I was wondering if anyone had pictures of slings they use or some that might work for me? :)

I got mine from Brass Stacker for the Henry 41 mag. It had swivels but they make one that does not use swivels,

I just made myself one with leather. I think it looks pretty decent and works well so far. The real test will be in a couple months.

Dixie and Track of the Wolf both carry slings that don't need swivels.

That doesnt work for a lever gun. The rear mount gets stuck underneath the lever.

Simple, yet useful. I might add some leather work to the straps.A basket weave or some type of braid.

I thought about paracord but didnt want something that looked super modern. i wanted to stay in the 19th century style looks.

I've got a leather one that I used with my muzzle loaders that loops around the barrel and laces a "cup" around the butt stock. Bought it in the '90's from the LGS still have it but really don't shoot muzzle loaders much anymore. Came from one of the commercial companies that makes stuff like that.

Just googled muzzle loader slings and "The Possibles Shop" has 2 very similar slings. Hope this helps.

I came up with a rudimentary sling for my '66 and '73's that works great, is simple and requires no modificarion of the rifle. Postwd it on a other forum a couple of years ago-

Thought this might be of interest to some of you who occasionally use your '66's and '73's for other than CAS when they're required to be toted.
I'm taking a trip in a month to a somewhat mountainous region and will carrying the '66 along for treks. I seriously needed a way to sling it but am not quite ready to inlet the stock for the traditional type sling loops as I'm going to strip it and give it a good oil finish once it warms up around here.
So, I found a cheap leather belt and went to work.

First, remove the buckle and cut a longitudinal slit about the width of the belt a little ways from end.

Now thread the other end of the belt through this slit and slide it over the end of the barrel and down to the forend.

At the other end of the belt punch a small hole about an inch or so from the tail end of the belt (you can also just use one of the buckle holes, if desired).

Finally remove the bottom buttplate screw, insert it through the hole you punched and screw it back into the buttplate and tighten it firmly.

The sling is easily adjusted by sliding it up and down the barrel and pulling it snug at the spot you want it to stay. Sort of holds itself like a latigo does on a saddle. When one is finished with it, reverse the procedure.

I've tried this with two belts, one a little thicker than the one pictured, and neither got in the way of the sights.

I have one of these Leatherman slings (https://www.accu-riser.com/products/Universal-Sling.html) on my Cimarron 1873 Sporting Rifle. It does not interfere with the sights.
