Agreed, but the recoil from long range loads would be easier on the hand with rubber

After reading the title of this post, I was disappointed that it was not a link to a kinky pornographic film.

I agree the weapon is more appealing with wooden stocks, but the rubber handle offers a better grip. For me the best of both worlds would be supplementing the wood stocks with a Tyler T-grip adapter.

It was. . .this is just a different form. Firearms porn! ! ! Another favorite male past time. LOL It goes along with Hunting porn and Fishing porn.

I would like to have myself a nice Redhawk in .41 Remmy Mag with nice wood grips or rams horn. I have several Blackhawks, but I have room in the stable for a Redhawk.

They do, but I found the recoil with full magnum loads unbearable. I put Hogue grips on there years ago and with the exposed back strap it stayed in the safe in favor of the Blackhawk.
I have a set of the Pachmeyer presentation grips coming this week so I can wring our some .44 magnum loads. I look forward to seeing how those feel. For $11 I figure I can’t go wrong.

They do look better in wood, I love revolvers no matter what they are wearing.

If wood and rubber is what you`re after you might look at what Pachmayer offers.Robert

I agree. last gun show I bought a ruger security-six in stainless. it had rubber grips. I went to other tables and found some wood grips. it does look better.

the main reason I changed from rubber to the wood was because everytime I fired these 2 redhawks they thumped my middle finger with the back of the trigger guard.the part about them looking better was just a bonus.the thump of even a full mag load doesnt compare to my 454,480 or 500s so right this minute im still good with that but I do seam to shoot the 500s less and less every year

I like the look of the wood grips better just like I prefer wood stocks on a rifle or shotgun. That is just how I am wired.
Unfortunately my arthritis tells me that looks aren't everything, so all of my revolvers wear rubber.

a good grip that fits your hand will usually handle the recoil. and wood looks so much better. i just finished a set of grips for my 41 mag pug had a set of pacyhmars on it but at 23 oz it was still pretty hard on my old hands new set is made from purple heart and fits my hand perfectly and the recoil is not as bad as with the factory or the pachmayrs at least it doesn't feel as bad. although i will admit that after all the work i put into them that it may be all in my mind but does it really make a difference if it is?

My Redhawk is a real beauty queen with the wood panels on it, no doubt.

But the way it bites the hand that holds it is why I got a GREAT deal on it. With a Pachmayr Decelerator (or even a presentation) it is a much sweeter mistress though.

the pachmayr's just aren't for me on these guns, both of my s&w 500s have them and so does my raging bull judge and 480 but they don't hurt my middle finger when firing

I just put the set of Pachmeyer presentation grips on mine. They were a used set that I got for $10.
They don’t come together completely over the back strap. About 1/8 inch. Just a fit issue I’m sure.
I haven’t shot it yet. Running a business and family takes so much time!

My eyes love wood grips, but my hands and wrist love the rubber ones.
