I'm loading up some mild loads for my 30/30 to fire form to 30/30/A.I. I noticed that a few had lube dents on them. I know that lube dents will iron out when shot in a standard chamber, but what about when they are to be fire formed? I'm believing, or hoping, that they will iron out, but does anyone have first hand experience?

If it is enough to fire form, then i see no reason it wouldn't.

As a general rule I've found that a fairly stiff load rather than a light load fire-forms improved cases much better. They seem to be more prone to cracking or splitting with low pressure loads. Just my 2 cents worth ...

It's a 6.6 gr. Bullseye load with 165 gr. RanchDog boolits. Not too light, but nowhere close to full throttle.......

If you get a sharply defined crease with your lube dents they will probably initiate a crack when fired. If the lube dents are shallow and do not have sharp creases or grooves they will most likely blow out when fire formed.
