Just found out a guy I know, loss his wife and 9 month old daughter, in a house fire.
He's a cop, and a really good guy.
Honest, with Integrity.
Rare with cops here.
Not feeling to good. Just thinking how much he's hurting.

Just be there for him if he should need a shoulder to lean on during his time of grief.

Giving him his space.
Whole club is.
Couldn't sleep last night.
I can't even begin to imagine what he's going through.

Just please be sure to tell him you're giving him space, but if and when he doesn't need space, you're there for him. You don't want him feeling outcast or avoided in his current situation.

Couple I knew - When she wanted him to comfort her, she'd go sit on the bed. When he wanted personal space, he'd go sit on the bed. So, as you can imagine, they were misreading each other's minds - At first. Till they had a deep, meaningful, honest talk about it and learned why she was "intruding into his needed space", and why he was "ignoring" her.

Mind reading's pretty horribly ineffective at times - Best to ASK, tactfully, to make sure we have it right. Not that I ever get it wrong, myself (sigh.)

Why do bad things happen to good people?????
And why do bad people always seem to get away with anything????

Fire dept came out with the cause of the fire.
They said a leaking propane tank was ignited by the electric water heater.
This was in an open entrance, two car garage.
Possible, but seems unlikely to me.
House was old. Wiring probably old.
I'm thinking a bad outlet, then fire set off the propane tanks.
Coincidence............
There was another fire yesterday.
Older home. Up stairs bedroom.
Outlet overheated, and caught on fire.
Everyone got out.
Owner was able to run a water hose up stairs, and kept the fire small, until the fire department came.
Majority of the houses here are old single wall construction.
I need to check all the outlets in my house soon.

Why do bad things happen to good people?????

Bad things happen to everyone, good AND bad.

And why do bad people always seem to get away with anything????

They don't, but newswise, if it bleeds, it leads - unless the bleeder is in the upper echelon, or member of the In Crowd. Journalism, if not dead, is severely ill - investigative reporters are TOLD what to investigate, with little choice on their own...

I've always felt that reporters should be held responsible for anything the write.
Hiding behind the First Amendment is not what the founding fathers intended.

So.....Today at the range..........Guess who I saw????
Friend who lost his wife and daughter.
He had gained a bunch of weight.
I almost didn't recognize him.
We had a nice talk.
He's back at work. New position. Public relations.
He is perfect for the position.
Back coaching a high school shooting team.
He said he's just trying to keep busy.
He seemed in good spirits.
Just a little while ago, the wife's family lost a member.
He went fishing, and was never found.
Talk about bad luck.
I really glad he's doing well.
