This was a strange one. I used a 320 gr LBT WLNGC, both lungs and heart gone. She went 30 yd's. I always back track my deer and I didn't find any blood from where she layed to the hair on the ground. There was very little blood under her too. It all stayed inside. The boolit broke the off shoulder.

Nice set up there, How do you load the 320's?

I have a Bisley 44m I'd like to us those on.

I use 21.5 grs of 296, Fed 150 primer, Hornady dies and only size to just below the boolit base in the case. This has proven to be the most accurate load in every Ruger I have shot. It is great in the SBH and SRH and has shot many sub 1" groups at 50 yd's and even several 1" groups at 75 yd's.
I carefully worked loads from 19 grs to 23 grs and the groups start to open on either side of 21.5 grs. You will notice I use standard primers! These cut group size by 2/3's. I don't switch to mag primers until I get to the .475 where they are the most accurate. You should always test primers when looking for groups. I find the Fed the most accurate.
I used this same load out of my Marlin lever gun several seasons ago on a large doe at 65 yd's. She took half a step and pitched on her nose and never kicked.
