Hello again Charcoal burners...
I am pursuing my Round Ball in 12 guage to the next level. Very kind input from many fellers here and in the Shotgun section have furthered a lot of GREAT Ideas and answeres to questions I needed help with.
So where this is headed is to locate a heavy.. thick wall 12 guage Full Choke 12 guage barrel for a Mossberd 500 action. Then to send such barrel to a Rifler who CAN rifle the Full Choke constricted end to about 1-100 thus duplicating (sort of) the Paradox barrels of about 100+ years ago. This is for 12 Round ball. May be Full Bore but I will most likely be shooting first with regular plastic wads as my present molds are that diameter.
I guess my goal is to at least equal the accuracy of my .58 Zouve can do at 100 yards... consistant 4 inch groups or less.
So IF you know a Barrel Rifler who might be willing to do a partial barrel rifling job at 1- 90 to around 1-00 ( I am flexible on this) would you be so kind to POST that name.... I will contact them.
Thanks ! :coffee:

well you have somewhat of a problem in that you are out of the country. I would suggest that you look for someone that builds muzzle loaders A 69cal is the size of a 12ga. Also would look at an older gun like a old mod 12 win or model 10 rem they have a thicker barrel than the new ones. Good luck rick

If I am thinking right this is a Muzzle loader... I am doing my project with RB in a breach loader.
But yeaaaaa I have looked at the .72 Kodiak more than once with some real hunger pains.

Would not screw in chokes be an alternative for your project? I believe you can get them already rifled.

Never mind, I just saw your response in another thread.

Good luck.

NEF/H&R....12 bore, rifled full length with heavy contour....breech hack/cough loader. Dunno if they're available down Peru way, but there be your answer...maybe. The twist isn't so fast that you can't use it for round balls. In fact, it is set up for sabot plastic anyway. Happy boomin'....

Thanks Digital... If I understand the info it has a 1-28 twist which is similar to the Mossberg rifled barrel... I desire to come up with about a 1-100 twist (1-90 to 1-120) similar to what the Muzzleloaders use in .72 caliber.

You might be able to buy a blank barrel from those folks and have it rifled yourself.

Contact these folks and see if they can set you up with a big bore.

They used to do alot of large bore stuff. It would be much less hastle to buy a big bore rifle, even in kit form, than to have a barrel rifled and try to fit it to a gun.
