Yes, all of those designs are suitable for 45/70-family loads. The 457193 should produce lighter recoil and reasonable shorter range accuracy, so it can be a good choice for hunting or plinking.

The other two will handle longer range shooting, with the NEI bullet being most suitable for that.

It is hoped that all of those moulds are capable of producing bullets that are of better quality than the examples stuck in the cavities.

Thanks MC. They were in the mould as received. They do look a little frosty don't they.

It also appears that they are not filled out and may have wrinkles or voids. I see the base as not filled out, look slike they are rounded. But hey they will give you 4 boolits to try immediatley!

Would this one also work in a lever gun with BP? Looks like flat point to me. Deer maybe?

Duke, when you size it for a lever action, use a top punch with a flat on it to help make it a little flatter on the nose just for extra safety. Another thing you could do is drill the nose for a hollow point that are suppose to expand better then cast hollow points.

I just checked the mould and it has a 1/4 inch flat nose on it. That work DH? TIA

They have more troubles than just frost. As a matter of fact, considering that they are frosty, I wonder why alloy heated to that point still produces round corners and 'scars' in the surfaces. Must be straight WW...

I would say zinc was in the mix.

I use the 457125 in my Browning BPCR. It is the most accurate that I found for my rifle. I tried several Lyman, 2 Saeco, 1 RCBS mold. You will have to look at paper patching and open a whole new ballgame.
