This doe decided to offer me a 20yd shot this evening. Parker Tornado and Slick Trick broad heads did their thing on a double lung hit . Sorry about the cape pic but I had to get it on ice . https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181010/0b8dd03b8134e045d95abde9e893442e.jpg

Congrats. I've used a crossbow to take my bucks the past three years. Archery is the only way to hunt the rut here, and they legalized crossbows during the archery season a few years ago. They are effective weapons, but not like many people think they are. Inside 40 yards or so, they are great, not sure I'd want to use mine much past 50, but the good news is, I don't have to, shots are close for me.

Got this one Saturday.
Not a monster, but for me, archery has been tough for a few seasons so I am pleased as punch.

Btw, those are slick trick magnums on home built 500 grain shafts.

I hunt a lot of grain fields during bow season , I do my best to get inside 30yd. I have taken 1 doe at 50 yd. and it still had plenty of punch , about knocked her off her feet . I keep shooting sticks with me for all shots if possible because once I get past 30yd any wobble , pulling the shot all gets magnified the further out you go.
