I have some commercial semi wadcutter .452 155 grain boolits that I bought years ago. What loads do you guys use for such a light boolit? I've looked at the powder manufacturers websites. However, just curious what works for you guys. They will be shot in a 1911

Count me as being astounded. Hodgdon lists eighteen loads for 155gr lead semi wad cutters. It looks like every pistol powder IMR, Hodgdon, and Winchester list.

4.2 grains of Hodgdon Clays is what I use for that one. It's a powderpuff, but very accurate.

I have been using 4.5 of WST and 4.5 of Bullseye. These are light loads but do function my 1911 pistols. The boolit I am using is one I cast myself with an older Lee 2 cavity mold.

I did notice Hodgdon had a million recipes. I am probably going to use clays but haven’t quite decided. Thanks for the inputs

We have shot a lot of magma 160 swc. This weight range is short for caliber and has to be pushed a little harder than say a 185 or 200. Our mim. target load is 4.6 grains of Bullseye and accurate out to 50 yds. Other fast pistol powders work as well. Our guns have light springs for target work but it is accurate in heavier sprung guns at higher velocities.
