Does anyone have a suggestion for a bullet mold for .45 Colt Uberti lever action rifle and .45 Colt Ruger revolver? A bullet around 255 to 300 grain.

I don't own a Uberti (yet) but I have always had excellent results with the Lee 452-255-RF mold.

In my Rossi, Marlin (that I sold) and my Vaquero and Blackhawk I shoot these bullets as cast with no sizing, one very light coat of BLL.

This bullet over 7.5 gr of Bullseye is hard to beat in any gun.

Best of luck,

Steve in N CA

Agree, flatnosed Cowboy style bullet and 7.5 grains of Bullseye, here is the pressure data from Larry Gibson:

228393228394

These are the bullets I use in my Rugers and Marlin. Nose might be a bit long for the Uberti.

228395228396

I use soft alloy so weights are heavier than suggested by the mold designators, actual weights are on the firing data sheets.

I've used both the 454190 and the Lee in my Blackhawks and Rossi Lever and both work fine for me

I use both the Lee 452-200 RF, and 452-255 RF in my 45 Colt Henry BBS.

Lee 255 kills clays at 110 yards in my 24" cowboy. It's hard on deer too. 2%Sn drops at .453. Haven't found a load for the bisley yet.

454424 has worked fine for me .
I had an original round groove single which was replaced with the NOE version . Mixed loads and single batches gave me a nil difference in groups .
The Lee 452-255 is nice also , both my original 2C and more recent 6C drop at 265 gr .
In a more spirited effort I tried the 458-340 but it ran out of lube sized down to 454 .

If your Uberti is an 1866 or 1873, you have to be very careful with bullet choice because cartridge o.a.l. cannot exceed 1.6" , and 1.595" is even better. Otherwise they won't feed.

Lymans 452664 works well in my uberti 1873 rifle. Feeds well, has crimp groove, and carrys plenty of lube for BP and smokeless.

Besides the traditional 255gr mentioned, my all time favorite is the 45-270-SAA. Slick as snot for function and works on anything that needs workin out of a 45 Colt.

I have always heard this also. I may have to break down and buy one.

Check out Brian Pearce’s article on it.

If you're wanting a good bullet for hunting I use a Lyman 325gr. I shoot them out of a ruger blackhawk and a marlin.
