Are any of you having good results with the RCBS 30-150-FN in either 30 30 or 300 savage. I have not tried this mold yet but I would like to find one in this weight range for both rifles. This mold looks like it would be a prospect.

Yes. Good results with the 30-30 in a octagon lever action 94 win with a 10 twist barrel. May even be better in 12'' twist barrel. Using clip on wheel weights bullets drop from mould at 0.310+, I size to 0.310 and use Ben's red lube. Bullets come out at around 158 or 160 grains with gas check.
I have tried imr4198, w748, imr4064 and imr4895. Tried max loads with no leading whatsoever. Keep loads to 1800 to 2050fps for best results accuracy wise.
Due to bad eyesight, with any rifle I own, even my most accurate scoped rifle, I am shooting about 3 times the size groups as I used to be able to. Maybe I am a bit out of practice as well. Still, 30-30 groups at 100yds with the RCBS 30-150fn mold are 3'' and maybe a tads better, with recent experimenting. I do have other info with regards to the loads.

Thanks for the info and real life results. I will try the 4198 first and go from there.

Check your load data resources first. I went up to 22grns of imr4198. 18,19 grn loads all turned in about 3''@100yds.

Great in a .30/30 M94. I went so far as to HP one. My "go to" bullet for the .30/30./beagle

I concur that the RCBS 30-150-FN is an excellent lighter weight bullet in the 30-30, especially M94s with 12" twists. Your 300 Savage should also have a 12" twist and the RCBS bullets should be excellent.

I was also using H4895 in my M94s with the RCBS bullet until I tried RL 7. With the 150 gr bullet RL 7 gives much better internal ballistics and better accuracy than the H4895 loads.......not much but enough to warrant its use, especially in the M94 Carbine with 20" barrel. In the M94 with 24" barrel its an even horse race as far as accuracy is concerned. Both my M94s are scopes as my eyes also have gone south on me......

I have rifles chambered in both in .30WCF ("30-30 Winchester") and .30-30 Remington (Remington model 8, and model 14 in this caliber). It is indeed my bullet of choice for the .30 Remingtons, and surely is a reliable, hit where you aim, slug in the .30WCF. A great choice, imho.... BEST!
