Not sure where to ask this but I have J word question, if this is the wrong place please move it.
I have a scoped Yugo 48 Mauser and a supply of Remington 185 gr, core-lock bullets, there is no load data for this one that I can find. I can tinker around and work up something but was still wondering if anyone has any experience with this bullet in the 8 X 57. I have a couple cans of IMR 4320 that I want to use but will use what works best.
Thanks,
Dave

Any load for 196 or 200 gr bullets will work with the 185s. 4320 will work fine.

Years back I had 2K of the Rem 185 CorLoks. I worked up a load using 47.5 gr of slow burning lot of milsurp IMR 4895 which was very similar in burn rate to IMR 4320. I measured the psi (Oehler M43) using a VZ24 in new condition. The psi was worked up to was the CIP (European SAAMI) PMAP of 57,000 psi (transducer/strain gauge). Muzzle velocity was 2635 fps and accuracy was less than 2 moa for 10 shots. I shot up all the bullets with that load in 3 different M98s with no problems.
If you want a good hunting load I suggest you start at 45 gr IMR4320 and work up in 1/2 gr increments to 48 gr or, preferably, until they chronographs 2600 fps. I used Winchester cases and WLR primers.
