Hi, I am a Newbie here, but have been having fun loading up my own bullits for about 35 years. My latest project is for a G20 with 155gr SWC's and 175gr SWC. They are made by Trueflight and I got them cheap. The powders I have on hand is Bluedot, Reddot, 2400, 231, HP38 and some Unique. I also have a new " lead friendly" barrel on order. Could someone get me staterd with some loads that will cycle the stock Glock and not deposit too much lead in the bore. I have no idea how hard these bullits are. Thankyou for your time.

I used to load 175 grainers with 7.5 of SR4756 in my Colt Delta. They were sized to .401. Very accurate load; I used Wolf boolits made in Canadia. Taper crimp with just a bit of the front band peeking out of the case.

GMW,

First off WELCOME to the board!:drinks: My Springer Omega loves cast. I don't have my loading records with me, but if you'd loke I can look some up for you. I think you are really going to love this cartridge. Just for my info, how much reloading experience do you have? Browse around and enjoy!

Thanks for the replys. I have been reloading for 35 years. I only use suggested loads found in books by Speer, Sierra and Nosler. That is why I posted my question, they don't list any loads for cast bullets. Thanks again.

I'm sure you've heard the warning about using lead in stock Glock barrels. Yours might like lead, or it might not, mine didn't. Just be aware of that. Replacement barrels are available for about $100 from Lone Wolf.

For 10mm loads, you might look for Mike McNett's load data on glocktalk.com. Mike is the owner of Double Tap ammo, which specializes in 10mm. They have a good 200gr WFN load, using the bullet from Beartooth Bullets.

I shoot 10mm but have only used jacketed (so far) for full power loads. Power Pistol is excellent for full power 10mm. 2400 is too slow, Red Dot is too fast for all but real light loads in this cartridge. Unique or 231 should work well for mid-range cast loads. Start with 40 S&W loads for cast; that will give you a nice mild load in the 10mm.

I've used 9 gr of Power Pistol under the 155gr cast SWC for a mild load, but 231 might work better for light-mid power stuff like this.

Any loads for Unique? I am looking for a plinking load.

Sorry, I guess I missed the part about the barrel.

The Hornady manual lists 6.6gr Unique for a 180gr lead bullet. I'd start with that charge for both bullets you have, and work from there. Hopefully you have a chronograph to get some idea of the velocity?

Thanks yondering, I don't have the Hornady manual so I thank you for the suggestion. Yes I do have a chronograph and I'll post my results as soon as my LoneWolf barrel gets here.

And to reiterate glocks don't like lead boolits ,... they do however like hard-cast ... soft lead may build up in the barrel. hardcast does not so much , , lube and fit make the difference , im sure this has been talked about many times on this site, as stated , feel free to look around...

I sold the Glock but now I shoot a RIA in 10mm with a 175gr cast with 7.5 grs of unique. Man......time flies!

I find unique works well in my 10MM for target and plinking loads. Even with the 22b spring installed. I discovered it during the shortage and have now experimented with it as a target loads in all my guns. Wonder how I ever got along with out it now.

I like 800X for nuclear loads, AA#7 for medium loads, and AA#9 for full power loads.
