I need some information.Does anyone know where to find a tool to reduce .323 FMJ lead core bullets to .318 dia?A buddy is trying to help a guy with a old Mauser sporter with a .318 bore.Cast bullets are not a option for them.I heard a tool or die was once available to do this. Thanks for any help.

CH4D Tool and die. Check out their website and then order what you need. Bullet reducing die.

I used a Custom Lee Sizing Die and a heavy Press and a good lube to push some down for a Commission Model 88 I had. Got tired of that after a while and installed a 88/05 barrel from CZ that was throated to accept the .323 bullets.

Thanks for the help. Will take a look at the CH4D site for the bullet reducing die.I wish my friend were not 1300 miles apart getting a old gun shooting well is some of the most enjoyable time I've spent with firearms.

I swage .323" jacketed bullets to .3155" to shoot in an overbore M-N. First, they go through a .319" die Lee made me for $25. Then, they go through a .3155" Lee die I reamed from a .314" Lee die. Advice: (1) you'll need a stout press like the Lee Classic Cast; (2) lube the bullets and pre-lube the inside of the dies with Lee case lube. It worked better than the dozen or so other lubes I tried; (3) some j bullets are harder to swage than others; some brands will give you split jackets. The 185 Remington worked best for me.
