500 Watt Element

I took an old rice cooker apart the other day. I was surprised to see it had a five hundred watt element. I am not tossing this thing. Because of the way it's made, I'm thinking it would make a perfect heated platform, for warming a mould, or two, while the pot is warming. Any other ideas for a use, would be appreciated.
