It does my heart good to see people making their own stuff, rather than buying it.

If I could do work that like that I would be doing it for myself. I have not seen anything for sell that looks as good as that and I have been looking.

I have that problem where I see something I like and I head straight for the workshop to figure out how to do it.
Thank you all.

I made one a month ago, didn't turn out to bad. I didnt have the right leather 4 oz and too soft. I tride to load pics but im doing something wrong. I used to be able to load pics but this new computer is not cooperating with me. That's a nice bag you made.

Thank you all.

That's how I have learned how to do so many things over the years. Can't afford it, so I make it.

5-6 oz leather, that should be fun to punch holes in to sew. Any thing that requires effort is worth it. A guy appreciates things he makes him self.

Not that bad actually. I have an awl I made that I use in conjunction with a mallet to pre punch the holes before sewing.

An awl is a must thats for sure. I was looking on ebay, lots of leather to be found there. Im thinking mabe the vegie tan leather might be good. i have some 8 oz vegie tan that i intend on using for a holster but i might need to drill the holes to sew its thick and pretty stiff. Leather can be quite a challenge to sew if you dont have the right tools and know how. Always something to learn how to do.

Yep all my thick leather gets drilled.
No end to the learning process
