So today one major item was crossed off my list! I found a perfect as new super 14 barrel for my contender in...7/30 Waters!!! Even had T/C mounts and a T/C 4 power scope! Can’t wait to ring it out! Now just need dies!

I believe I saw some brass in the Classifieds, in case you need any.

I have a 16" carbine barrel. It is a tack driver. I have shot it as a pistol a couple of times. Just about the only barrel I still have left.

If you could send me the link I’d appreciate it big time I just went through the S&S section and found nothing for 7-30 brass.

My first pistol was a Contender 14" in 7-30 Waters, loved that pistol. Great caliber for the Contender. Enjoy it.

Alternately get some 30/30 brass and run it through a sizer die, then fire form and you have official 7-30 brass. Have 300 cases from DiamondK that I'm 1/3 through sizing so I can fire form them later this money (I hope!)

That is the only Contender caliber lefty that I would buy now.
Would gladly move some to get it.

I was shooting a Contender with a 14” 7-30 Waters today. Very impressed with its accuracy.

It is in perfect condition with a set of T\C mounts and a 2.5-7 T/C scope! The negotiations were long but friendly, a barrel of mine and some cash. It doesn’t look like
It’s ever been mounted on a frame. I know stainless hides the wear marks better but it looks
Perfect to me!

Many years ago,, a gunsmith friend was discussing the (then) new T/C bbl he had in 7x30 Waters. I took his outside, shot it,,, and went into the gunshop & ordered my first one.
Well over 100 whitetails, elk, and many other critters later,, I too appreciate that caliber in that gun. I now have a second bbl, and it's the one with the factory porting. I fell into it CHEAPLY,, so it had to come home.
A very accurate, mild recoiling, and deadly on game gun.
Fireforming brass isn't hard, and you will be set.

Mine is a Contender Carbine with a Bullberry semi-bull 21" bbl. It has been a delight to hunt with.

Always nice when a plan comes together. If you need any 30-30 brass to reform I'm pretty sure have some around I could pass along.

Thanks Roger; I’m rolling in 30-30 brass; as it’s always been a popular round in our clan. I also just completed a deal for some already sized and fire formed in S&S section! Can’t wait to test this baby out! I totally see this contender and my encore being my “old man” guns; as in thin the herd and continue to load and cast and experiment with these delightful single shots! If my luck holds I’ll find some dies this week.
