Heavy Metal no longer in the business, but near identical flat-nosed bullets to the proven tapered nose Ed Harris design are available from NOE and Accurate and work well in almost any .30 cal, I load to achieve standard .30-30 ballistics from an '06, and also work seated deeper in the .30-30 with compressed charge of 30 grains of IMR4064, RL15 or Varget or 34 grains in the .308 Win. and our crew kills a truckload of deer every year. These also cycle the Remington 740 and 742 reliably if you use those:

Another vote for the Lee. Very accurate, good hunting bullet.

30 grains of 4064, RL15 or Varget with a 1.0 grain Dacron filler tucked loosely into the case neck approximates .30-30 ballistics. For hunting use about 12-13 BHN works well.

varget is what I use loading j-word bullets so that would work out well

31-165A is perfect. MOA capable @ 200 yds and will knock over steel. I have the A & C (no lube groove) 4x. The 'A' needs to find a home.

I'll cast another vote for the lee c309-170-f. It's very accurate in the few guns I've tried it in, and I use it in my own 308 winchester. There's probably even better designs out there, but you can't go wrong with a $25 mold that everyone loves.

NOE/Ranch Dog TL310-178-A05-RD would be my choice if the People's Republik would allow hunting with lead -I've unfortunately got to hunt with copper here . Between push-through sizing to seat the gas checks and the tumble lube, this has become my favorite .308 Ruger Scout practice bullet due to ease of mass production paired with 100Y accuracy. This large meplat slug can be driven fairly fast and hits with authority - you can actually hear it paper-punch cardboard at 100 yards. I've got a happy situation where the 225 yard scope setting for my 130 grain Barnes zeros this bullet almost perfectly at 100, where I warm up for the season turning water jugs inside out.
