I started a post here and erased it . It contained scripture , it almost plead , it would reach no one .

Before ANYONE gets offended this is only a request that is not unsound . So many visit the Chapel but by the views few post . Is the Chapel only a curiosity ? It troubles me that to have a place to pray , praise and encourage ...few do . Christians of different denominations decry the internet for all evil but when offered a place to call the name of GOD few go to the trouble . We on this forum are offered the unique opportunity to work together in his name for him through our common faith .

Perhaps I'm wrong ! Is our faith in GOD 'NOT' common ? I am an Independent Baptist yet I am willing to pray with or for anyone . I am glad when anyone of faith gives praise to our Lord . I revel in in the exaltation of GOD . I join with any that encourage another in his name .

I am only a layman ...nothing else . I have no authority but seek those that believe everyday ! I know I do because I try . I am only an old sinner that cannot cast the first stone so I am not keeping anyone from GOD . I find great pleasure in finding new people to confirm faith with .

Please pray here . Please call GOD's name often . Please encourage our brothers and sisters here . Please stand up to encourage others with medical or problems of life . Please support one another and love thy neighbor as thy self .

Please post , pray , praise and encourage ! GOD is here and GOD hears you .

Thank you

Charlie

I agree Charlie, I am truly thankful for the opportunity to fellowship with those of like faith. I may not agree all the time but I love this chapel and all the request and lessons offered. God is faithful when we are not.

We are blessed by the existence of the Our Chapel sub forum. We are blessed by the like minded members who are most importantly Members of the Body of Christ. For me, a great place of fellowship, prayer, encouragement and worship. I think your thread makes a good point. There can never be enough prayer and worship. Surely, I could do more, but I do what I can. I can only speak for me. I see a lot of good being done here. May God Bless you all.

I find it a breath of fresh air that this is included in the forum, most places would forbid it or have a lot of trolls trying to disrupt things.

dont despair that so few post, not all of us are as eloquent as you, the large number of views should be a thing of joy not a discouragement.

Charlie I am going to use your own words against you.

You are doing more good here than you know!

As long as we are following where the Lord leads us, it is not our place to worry about where we are going or how we are doing. We have the simple job. Follow, believe, trust in the Lord.

We can never truly know how many lives we are effecting. All of those who read and think on what they have seen.

We KNOW the results prayer brings. True honest selfless prayer for another. And we know it works.

That is all we need Charlie.

I also know all too well that at times it seems not enough. That we should be giving and doing more.

But in a way that leads us to doubt. We are trusting our will, and at least somewhat doubting the Lords.

I think it should be the other way around. We slip, we fail, we fall we sin daily. We should doubt ourself, and trust in the Lord for our guide. He will never lead us wrong.

I know you know all this charlie, because you have told me similar when I was in that slough of doubt and despair. You are stronger, better, more effective than you know. Follow where we are lead. Be good to his flock as you can, but take care of yourself too.

I have posted more often in the past. I try to post things that seem particularly meaningful, and sometimes it can be a while before I am so inspired. I do continue to read the posts on Our Chapel, and I praise God that this venue exists.

The book of James '

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

I have a love of James . The sinners handbook on correcting wrong committed has served me well . We are all lead to pray for each other , encourage each other and to praise the one true living GOD we call our redeemer , our Lord and our master . The most eloquent prayers I have ever heard came from the heart , conviction and repentance . GOD knows your heart .

Romans 8:28 King James Version (KJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Can't say it any better

Folks do not realize God wants to hear our prayers and from results I am sure he also reads them.
A simple Amen I agree helps a person who we are praying for.

It's a good thing to WANT folks to participate, but folks today are so infected with PC doctrine, that many are afraid they'll say "the wrong thing" and others may not like it. PC is one of the most debilitating things to happen to Christianity in millenea. It causes good folks to clam up, and the bad to feel free to chime in. Just the opposite of what Christ wanted and taught! It is one of the most anti-Christian things to be developed in many, many moons.

And the saddest part of all is that it prevents many from finding out how wonderful it really is to have a genuine, honest, forthright discussion of our faith and its works. I can only hope that many will find the temerity to go ahead and pull the trigger, and make a post or two. It doesn't have to be something earth-shaking. Just a simple "Hello" to let us know you're there, and to let us know if this place has meant something to you. Maybe it's just a good place to set your attitude for the day, or for reviewing the day in the evening with a renewed perspective. We're all friends here and there's no need to worry about saying "the wrong thing." If it's what's on your mind, we want to hear about it. Do you have doubts? Lay them out. One or more of us may have something to offer that might help you resolve those doubts.

Faith isn't an easy walk all the time. Sometimes we have to give a little of ourselves so we can receive. Just wade on in. The water's warm and fine, and inviting. Let us hear from you if you come here regularly, and thanks for chiming in.

Charlie, For those that pray on the site I suspect that there are very many more that dont post the prayer but do so privately. Like you I love praying for those that need the help and I love it when they keep us posted on their progress......for all that pray I thank you and encourage those that are curious to pray on it and join us.....you will not be shunned ..... but you will be embraced!

I completely agree Paul . No one ! No one who ever prayed here has been made anything but welcome to do so ! Eloquent big words , thee , thou , poetic , flowery , impressive , flowing words are not prayer . Prayer comes from your heart , prayer is you talking to GOD .

As children are taught to pray so are any age to keep it simple . In this Chapel Those requesting prayer are given strength by knowing someone cares . That they are not alone . That the giver of prayer reinforces their faith in our heavenly father . Ernest prayer from the heart is asked for by our Lord Jesus Christ .

At first I thought, no, Our Chapel was a place to gather together. Then I looked, I drilled down. As a place for prayer for those asking for prayer it is useful, productive and I believe God is well pleased. As for anything else, it has become moribund, and essentially useless. The member I most agreed with, to an uncanny degree is gone. Sad. My posts are ignored now. Not sour grapes, just an observation of fact. I miss the missing. So post a Scripture, and even you, as you discern, it will be of little use in a tiny echo chamber. But the good and best news is that Our Chapel is a good and pleasing place for prayer. We are attacked in this fallen world and prayer works. So I will go on as I am lead and answer any call for prayer. Hope springs eternal, so I will also pray we regain what has been lost,

Is the Chapel only a curiosity NO. Many here are probably like me, not much at words in cases of need. Many may not respond to the thread but that doesn't mean nothing is happening. Many have their own local 'family' with needs that 'we' don't hear about. Don't get discouraged.

I read a lot and pray for those in need. This site has helped me a lot more than anyone will ever know.

I don't post much and when I do it is usually short for a reason. I have difficulty expressing my thoughts in writing and sometimes what I say is taken out of text. Many mini-strokes in the past have contributed to this.

In short, keep it up, I enjoy this site and Cast Boolits would be for less if not for the people like you and others.

i'm more of a free agent. i pray a lot in myself, everyday. i'm questionning lord about things i don't get,as in '''why this why that'''. i admit i'm shy of being rejected the way i'm talking to my sheppard. i always felt that there is an established way of ''praying''. quoting the bible (which i read from time to time) isn't my strong point at all,but i definitely feel the connection, the veracity in my conversation with jesus and god.i'm honest in my will to communicate with lord, but i'm also too private about it.

First of all, thank you Boaz for starting this thread! We should not be ashamed of Christ! Nevertheless, so many times in our everyday lives we are guilty of missing the opportunity of mentioning His name (especially me). Honestly, I have been a Christian many years. Have I always sought being a better one?-NO! I am too Baptist and looking back, I have the slightest reasoning on the directions my life ventured. But as "screwed up" as anyone's life has gotten there is ALWAYS definite hope where God is concerned. God is "jealous" and wants us to give Him attention, and He deserves it too! I do remember the Bible saying "The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10)", well it's true! Anyway sorry to ramble on, but I need some prayer while on the subject LOL. The Bible does say "Confess your faults one to another (James 5:16)" so I'm confessing going to the casino a little too often...grrrr! So please pray for me, thank you! And no, I'm not any authority, I'm down with the lowest of the low when it comes to Christianity, but finding this thread has done some heavy duty witnessing to me. Thank God for all of you!:-D

I pray daily and will always gladly pray for anyone needing it. I do not usually talk Religion with people as it very often leads to arguments. I understand your points but there are always people who don't.

My parents were missionaries and my sister is a missionary. 2 things stuck with me, Treat people as you would like to be treated and show me your faith by your works, not your words.

Charlie, you are doing this forum a great service. Many people will come to the chapel/ your threads to "recharge" and gain insights/motivation from your posts.

People posting responses and prayers are nice IF it is for the right reason! -- are they posting to edify themselves or edify God.

here's a "phone book" some might find helpful

I understand quite a bit about folks and praying . Many are not public speakers and the fear of sounds stupid or being wrong . I pray in my time with GOD much more than here and that's as it should be . I'm not very smart , I type with one finger and have a basic education . Unlikely anyone has seen me put up a flowery flowing prayer here , they are all pretty basic .

The great thing posting a prayer accomplishes is to give support to those needing it . Even just posting...Amen...to another's prayer shows that someone cares , that someone is supportive . One of the great and amazing outcomes of this Chapel is the SUPPORT it gives to everyone . There are times in death , sickness , depression , anxiety or many other human conditions support is needed .Support can be shown respectfully here by non believers by simply using words like care , hoping , thinking , thoughts , sincerely...…… .

Support is being given by as little as an ...Amen !

In the stickie above Welcome to the Chapel I posted this about two and a half years ago and I still stand by it .

Welcome to the Chapel

Welcome to the Castboolits Forum Chapel !
Everyone is invited and welcome here . You are encouraged to be involved with others of like mind in prayer and praise . Your church affiliation is not important , we care about you not the name on the building your church meets in . We are here to simply help each other , give praise to our GOD , pray for one another and provide encouragement .
To those requesting prayer , please do so , you are encouraged to . If your request is of a personal or sensitive nature simply ask for an 'unspoken' or 'prayer of trust' , details need not be given in that request . Please keep your request updated as much as possible to show that your need is still there . Many times a request is made with no updates or follow up and if there is not reinforcement of the need then the prayer will not continue . Please have concern and respect for those trying to help and provide information on how the cause is going .
To those in prayer for another person or cause . Please pray often on the thread if possible , if your not able to for any reason to type in a prayer at least put down that you are included in the prayer line by a simple Amen or quote someone else's prayer to show your participation in giving your support . This simple response will show concern to the one in need looking for support and relief through our Lords intercession . Again, please put up a response that you are praying , it is important to show support .

Please come here often , help us as we help each other through prayer , praise and encouragement . Share your needs , share you willingness to help , share yourself through your testimony in praise of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ .

Thank you for being here .

You know Charlie today is my first time reading the sticky post. I've posted video from my preaching appointments, singing & things. I didn't understand this place was designed for prayer requests. Hope I didn't offend anyone.

I dont visit the chapel much here. Im on this forum for the reloading and firearms aspects. I dont like talking about my religious views with folks I dont know. I have my relationship with the Lord, and I mostly attended church, but for me, its a personal thing.
