thats the ogive thats important... i plan to stay in the "12 ga from hell" type world, using 50 bmg cases blown out to ras 12 polymer shape... ive used them in past and shot some lee buckshot that was RTV'd in, but that process is less than ideal and the round really needs that outer polymer nosecone (which i cant find replacements for, allegedly was a model rocket nose cone, but i cant find any) so if a guy could just match the ogive of the original plastic nosecone and make a good balanced slug design i would be a happy camper...

heres a vid of some brass being shot... sounds cool when it hits the ground!

Is the barrel on your RAS-12 rifled?

I've drawn up a number of slugs for fun. Here is one that would be about what you want for a nose shape, it would be for a rifled barrel only. Too heavy for what you want.

Why does nose have to be polymer? Copper cup would work..d

copper then with shot inside it?

yep ras barrel unrifled... could maybe convince someone to do a run of rifled though...

could that drawing be modded to a hollow base design? or would it not stabilize?

I have a 15 year old model rocket that i bought for my daughter. The plastic nose cone is as long as a loaded 2 & 3/4" 12 ga shell which would be a problem. Also it is so thin and weak i don't think it would survive cycling in a semiauto SG.

^ biker, i thnk they liked cones being fragile when they designed it, so they would "disintegrate" (split) upon firing and get out of the way of the shot??

i am tryin to make a mold out of oak at the moment, to try. as cast, was 3 oz, ha! will bore out the center from the base and see if it will fly. suppose it could be hollow nose and base? do folks do sucha thing?
