With the tang sights on a Sharps can you wrap your thumb around the stock or do you have to lay it at the side of the stock as you would a lever gun with tang sights?

The Pedersoli sights are situated so that iit is best to lay the thumb along side. They are also farther forward and for me I need a slightly bigger eye hole for a clear sight picture. Pedersolii sights run from $65 to $140 depending on grade. DO NOT get the rocker sights as their windage is acomplished by rocking the staff right or left and you need to resight as each elevation. Then when you shoot they fold every time. Good sights will run about $250 on up and if you are serious they are well worth it. For hunting the buckhorn ladder combo works well. But shy away from the cheaper Sharps carbine sight as they are hard to see in any but full light.
