I've been dinking around with ordering one almost since I bought the rifle back in late winter or early spring. For lack of correct nomenclature I'm wanting one like an old Lyman or Marbles that is not much more than a stem and that has windage. Quite similar to this one.

Before I spend a couple days looking does anyone know if there is a one model of sight that meets that criteria? Browning used to market one and I bought one and had the base modified to fit the bolt spacing on my Shiloh Sharps. Would the angle of the base of the same sight be adequate for a roller?

Marbles makes one that you can get different height stems for. I have one on my Swede Roller. I personally have had issues with the Marbles sights on 2 different rifles but they may be your only option if you want windage adjustment. I had to shim both of mine with cut up feeler gauge to remove the slop in the stem.
CSA use to offer a Lyman #2 replica with windage adjustment, but they don't anymore. I had one that I sold and have regretted doing so.

Have you checked with Lee Shaver about a tang sight? I've got one of his and am very pleased with it.

I'd 2nd the Lee Shaver Economy Soule sight. Of course no matter what tang sight you buy, you'll have to drill and tap the tang for it. I'd not do so with a Winchester pattern myself, but rather use a closer spacing like the Remington original 1.937" or even Stevens 1.5" spacing.
If you attempt to D&T the tang yourself and haven't done so before, be very careful! The casehardened surface is very hard and if it doesn't break a drill bit going in, it will break it coming out the other side! I spot anneal the tangs to soften them up so they wont break bits or taps.

My rolling block has a Shaver Soule sight and I'm happy with it.

I don't particularly want a ladder tang, the single stem is preferred by me for this rifle. I am familiar with Lee's offerings as a long time friend of mine was using and recommending them over 20 years ago.

marlinman, I had thought of that as I'd read about the parts that were re-casehardened when rebarreling to 8 X 58RD. I won't attempt it but give it to my gunsmith. 'Preciate the heads up though.

Thanks to all and I'll check the links!!
