I was given some reloading equipment and this was part of the haul. I have figured out how it works but not how it's used. I think it aligns cases all in one direction but I'm not sure. I'm sure someone on this forum will recognize it. Google didn't help.

Is there a motor that vibrates the slotted tray/device?

I could be used for separating/sorting bass or cleaning/sifting debris out of range lead

The motor has a connecting rod that goes to the upper portion and moves it back and forth length wise about an inch. Haven't fired it up yet. I initially thought a sorter but the slats are all equal distance apart.

It ss a Collater and boxing machine for cartridges mainly 38 special
one complete Row should be 50 cartridges. although there would be a stop to box any quantity

Looks like only 20 slots, total.... I thought maybe a berm mining device to separate bullets from dirt.

Maybe a couple of pictures at different angles

I looks like there a grooves in the slat holders between the slats for a short cartridge to pass through

It's a case sorter, most likely for .38 Special, since that was the most common use. I worked one of those to separate .38 Special brass from 9x19 brass when I was rangemaster for our department. It really sped up the process and was a real time saver.

It not only separated the two calibers, but it also helped to shake the debris out of the cases. We referred to it as "the shaker table".

Hope this helps.

Early 80's when I spent some time in Kallispel Mont, when St Helens blew its top, a gent whom I met was a commercial reloader for a few Police Dept's, when slots were full of 38's it was time to box, 1000. This gent is the owner (or was) of Montana Gold bullet maker, name is Norm Fejetland (????????).
