My LGS owner is, sadly, closing his doors due to health issues. I've had the privilege of taking care of him and his wife at our local hospital. He will give me a call if he gets in anything I might think is interesting before putting it on his shelf. Knows my kids by name and will keep hard candy behind the counter for them.

He asked me to look at a collection of smiths he had to see if I was interested. He had some really nice stuff like an unfired, Pre-M29 44 mag Smith in presentation case, OM BH and a few other really nice firearms. Included in this was a LNIB 67-2 he personally owned that he bought in the late 80's and shot very little. It barely has a turn line. No nicks or gouges. Magna grips in great shape. He's asking $500 for it but am not well versed in 67s to decide if its a good deal or not. I don't need it. I have a M15, M19, 586 if I want to shoot 38 special. However, I don't want to kick myself for letting it slip by 5-10 years from now. Love the square thumb latched guns without the Hillary hole.

opinions?

May be a tad high for a -2 but not out of reason. Is box with it? You won't loose any money on it.
Down the road instead of wishing you had bought it, you can be shooting or selling it at small
Profit.

Yes, box in pristine shape along with all the tools and cleaning kit and paperwork.

You can't go wrong, boxed gun with tools / docs is same as a CD in S&Ws obsolete models.

I might be the wrong person to ask because I'm a sucker for DA revolvers in 38 Special, particularly stainless steel ones.

As an investment or a collectors gun, I wouldn't pay $500 for it. The margin is too close and it would take years to make a profit. It is like new but has been fired and it isn't a particularly rare model. So while it's a fine example; unless you can find a S&W collector that needs to fill that gap in his collection and is willing to give you more than $500 for it - you're going to have it for a long time.

THAT BEING SAID.
As a gun to own and use (not an investment) If it was a 4" barrel I would have already purchased it. The Model 67 is essentially a stainless steel version of a model 15 and you just can't go wrong with it.

Compare the quality of the 67 against any $500 handgun available and then buy it.
