From another thread on the same subject in Special Projects, discussing how the original bullet for this caliber had a heel or minie type hollow base and it was decided that $250 for a mold from Lee was out o the question, which I aggree with! Got me to thinking, why could you not just make dummy block to hold the slug, or even just buy another double cavity Lee mold, put the slugs back in the mold and just use a drill press with a stop on it, to dril a shallow base out in the bottle of the slug, to achieve the same effect?? I use the Lee 450 grain .501 mold for the .500 S&W in this caliber cast relatively soft, unzised and pan lubed with good results, I think this is worth trying, what do you guys think??

No need for HB the original bullet had it and was a poor performer. The substitute omitted the HB.
I and many others use the Lee 515-450 50-70 bullet with excellent results.
As i get older and recoil gets worse i have chopped my mould and made a 380grain bullet.
Easier on the lead pot and my shoulder.

Isn't this actually a 12.17x44 cartridge?

I can't remember whether it was 17Nut that sent this link to me or not, but this might be something to look into if anybody just can't get there Swede roller to fire good boolits.

MOA, if they ship them back to US, I would be interested in one. I have been using an Ideal 515141, shoots great, but I am always looking for new moulds. Jim

Here's the response I just got today.

Yes, I ship to the US. The shipping charges are calculated when you add the mold to the cart. I would guesstimate a shipping charge of about 135–155 NOK ($16–$18) when the package is sent as a letter without tracking.
