Just found a new 444 barrel for my HandiRifle. I know the twist is 1/38.
Does anyone have a pet load and pet boolits in this caliber? I'm leaning
toward a 265 grain boolit for deer and 240 for plinking.

No but that rifle is easy to work up loads for it especially with those two slugs. Unique is a good place to start.

Ask Gosthawk. He has written about that very rifle a few times.

Mine has a faster twist than that!

How do you "Know" it has 1 in 38?

Lee 310 clone with 3 coats of BLL over 13 grains of Red Dot is one of my most accurate rifles ever.
And it is still no slouch with 220 gr cast over 6.5 grains of Red Dot for an easy on the shoulder plinking round.
With no gas check it is also easier on the wallet.

Mild to Wild it will do it all.

If it truly is a slow twist keeping bullets down in the 240 range should work just fine.

For something a little more aerodynamic for a single shot try looking on ebay for a ideal mold # 429 303.
Loaded with H110, mag primers, 26gr-27max velocity mid 1400-1500fps.
This is a bit lighter in weight that you mentioned, these run depending on alloy 200-209gr. Plus gas check and powder coat.
