I am looking for a good mold to use in my 308 win. I was wondering if anyone had tried this combination. I want a good varmint round prairie dogs, moles, ground squirrels. Range out to 150 to 200 yards. I bid on a 311359 on eBay and won the bid. I have cast a few up and they look pretty functional. Any advise on powder, velocity window, other considerations would be greatly appreciated.

I use the Lee 113 gr RFGC in my 32/20 Contender 10" and it certainly does a fine job on coyotes out to 150 yards which is as far as I can shoot with those iron sights and my eyes when the are fresh in the morning. The MV from the Contender is 1350. I would start out with either Red Dot from the above table or about 12 gr of 2400 since both my 308's adore 2400.

Yes I have a reloading manual. Thanks, but what I was hoping to hear was someone say they were using IMR
Trailboss. I went to the IMR website and they list 10 to 14 gr behind a 150 gr bullet. I have also read that as long as this powder is not compressed, overcharging is pretty much impossible. I also have used Unique in similar cartridges with reasonable results. I have never tried 2400. When I looked up 308 in my manual it didn’t list 2400 until 160 gr bullet. Is 2400 what you use in your contender? If so, it would seem you’d need a faster burning powder than that.

Friend shoots them out of a low numbered Springfield.
Poop load, but it shoots good at 50yds.
