Need some help here. Just bought a brand new 452424 cleaned, cast 150 boolits, all seemed to be well until I started to size, part of the boolit was coming out untouched and that' when I realized I had a big problem, the boolit (both cavities) are very oval and vary from 457 to 445! Anyway after close inspection of the mould, here is what the deal is: The left halves of the mould are perfect the right halves are way too small, stangest thing I've seen so far. My question is should I send it back, or fix it. I've read some on leementing and lapping. This isn't really the mould I wanted, I really wanted this boolit in a 4 banger, but they're not making one anymore, I may just bite the boolit and buy a SAECO 4 banger in their 455 diameter.
Thoughts are appreciated.

heavy lead,

I would send it back to Lyman for replacement. Sounds like the blocks were not completely closed when the operator stopped the cutting process.

I will take your guys advice. I bought three other Lyman moulds-all 4 holers and am very satisfied with them, this just seems like a dud. Next mould I buy I'm going to look at under a loop first before I waste time trying to break in a mould.
Thanks

Tell Lyman to go back to the 1970's 454424 cherry and throw this 452454 in the garbage, it will not shoot at any range.

Sent it back, replaced with a 454190, I'll use that for plinking. I usually use the RCBS 270 SAA for serious work anyway. That 190 looks like it might work ok in the acp too.
