What is your best & cheapest recipe for turning my pure lead into cast boolit material .
I see on line some material that is 65 1/2 lead - 23 antimony- 12 1/2 tin. I was thinking adding 15# of my lead to 5# of this. Would probably cost me about 40$

Look in the Swappin & Sellin forum:

I looked, and the very first active thread was alloy for sale. You could mix 50/50 clip-on wheel weights, add tin (two pounds of 50/50 solder with 18 pounds of pure lead will make classic 20:1 alloy, or just add a big handful of linotype.
If my math is correct...........
2.5 lbs. of that alloy with 20 lbs. of your pure lead would be about the same hardness as clip on wheel weights, about 11.4 Brinell.

If I had a stash of pure (or near pure) Lead, and nothing else to blend with it, to make it a useful boolit alloy, I would search locally for Lino-type or Mono-type. Sometimes it can be found for near the price of scrap lead. Then I'd use the alloy calculator to formulate a blend for a desired application.

Thank you, I went ahead & ordered that material. I have the lee .459 340 gr. Mold. Wii that 11.4 hardness work to push that boolit about 1800?
