I saw some pics of some Eagan molds and from the ad it appears he is out of business any information on these? Google search turned up nothing.

There is a phone number and address for a Donald Eagan at Eagan Moulds on castpics. The only notation is nose pour. Maybe a call to the phone number can answer any questions you have.

IIRC, there is a seller on ebay named rickets who specializes in moulds. I'm thinkin' it was about a year ago that he put up a slew of Egan moulds for sale. The moulds ranged from all there to partially built, as rickets had bought up the estate and took whatever he could get. He would be the man to speak to.

It'll have to be a direct line to Heaven. He is dead just now.

Most, if not all, of Mr. Eagan's moulds were designed for CBA benchrest competition, and if my memory serves me correctly all were in 30 caliber. They have a truncated nose and tapered bearing surface much like a Saeco 315. As others have indicated, Mr. Eagan is no longer with us, so the used market is the only place to get one of his moulds.

Two of them are being auctioned on Overpriced-Bay as I write this.

Mine's ~ 73gr for 243. A wonderful mold.

A friend of mine sold his spare 30 mx4 ardeto for $450.00. I keep mine in a safe. Jerry W

One doesn't necessarily need to go to the great beyond to get an Eagan Mold. Some enterprising individual purchased several of the cherries from the Eagan Estate. Among them, the MX3-30G, the MX3-30US, the MX3-30AR, and the MX2-243. I have a mold for sale that is a slightly shortened version of the MX3-30G with a larger meplat for use as a hunting bullet. The MX3-30AR is a bullet that should fit the very short throat of a K31 very well. The 30G also fits the K31 very well with the base going slightly below the neck, about even with the large diameter of the shoulder. I am awaiting delivery of 2 full length MX3-30G molds also. Attached are some photos of the shortened 30G bullets and the mold produced for me by Bernie Rowles of Old West Bullet Moulds. Bernie may not make them exactly like Don Eagan, but they are never the less a high quality mold. Anyone with questions or an interest, send me a PM.

Mr. Eagan was a cast bullet shooter. He wrote articles in the monthly newsletter of the CBA.
