Trying to find these, but no luck. Springfieldsporters.com is a place that I was tipped about, but no dice. I need to "un-bubba" an 03A3 in the worst way. It hasn't been drilled and tapped, and still has the rear sight. The stock is cut, so I'll prolly get a set from Boyd's. Can anyone help me out with the resurrection of this great rifle? If military barrels are unavailable, how hard would it be for a gunsmith to fashion a Springfield barrel from on of the current barrel makers? Thanks guys.

Seems like the cost of parts and smithin' would be close to buying an as issued 03a3 and you would still not have all original parts -- my ha-penny

While I don't think it would interest you, I have a new 03a3 barrel, 4groove, SA 3 44, -- buuuuut -- it was shortened 1" when sold as surplus in 1959-60 -- You could make a short rifle :-)

Just saw a 03a3 barrel on csp, new in wrap for $125 --

Gun Parts Corporation (aka Numrich) offers a reproduction 1903 barrel. I have no idea about the quality, but it should be a drop-in to the stock. Alternately, you can have most any barrel maker copy the contour, but it won't be for free. Northridge International carries barrels for the No. 4 Lee Enfield for around $50. If you need a barrel for a No.1 SMLE, I'd try BDL, Ltd - if Brian Dick doesn't have one, he can probably put you on the right track.

There is a 1903A3 like new in wrapper for sale on Gun Broker, item #110970029 with a production date of 8-44 for $145.00 + $18.00 shipping. Not a bad price on the barrel but I think the shipping is a little high. James

There is a gunsmith in Sandia Texas named Glen Martin who has a supply of new in grease 03A3 barrels. I think he wants about $90 bucks for one. He does not have email, so you will have to look up his phone number and give him a call. He is a great guy and a top notch gunsmith.
