I thought I would give everyone something to look at.....have not seen a picture thread in some time. I think this is one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever laid eyes on. It is a 1918 Government Model Colt with a set of real ivories. Someone did a very nice job engraving as well. There is no maker's mark unfortunately. The finish is pretty bad, but all of the parts are the real deal for 1918, and you can tell she was attached to somebodies hip during the war.

Maybe an ivory pic thread? I never get tired of looking.

Elephant ivory, hands down. I have a legal elephant tusk I plan to get made into grips for all of my handguns when I retire.
