Hello all,
I bought some jacketed 44 mag bullets from http://www.rozedist.com/mm5/merchant.mvc and at $.13 each they are fantastic. Considering that gas checks are .03 or .04 that is only 9 or 10 cents to shoot. These work very well out of my Rossi 92 that suggs out at .432. My question is can I shoot these out of my super blackhawk that sluggs out at .429? I've tried to contact Roze but they still haven't gotten back to me. I see other manufactures make 44 bullets that are .430 so it can't be that far of a stretch. Should I back off a grain and start working up to one less from max. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Yes. 1/1000th over bore should guarantee a decent gas seal. Load them and shoot them.
Take care

I would do my latter test, and watch for leading

I'd work up the load, but I doubt he'll get much leading from a jacketed bullet.........

Hope this helps.

you should always work up a new load, but .431 in a .429 bore is no problem.

Thanks for the feed back. I always start at the bottom and work up till I get the accuracy that I'm looking for. Just didn't know if I needed to start one grain less. i.e. 240 jacketed (Speer manual) 2400 starting is 19g. didn't know if I should start with 18g. It seems like this is a go and I will start with 19 and work up to 20.5. I will submit results later on the 25th.

Took my gun out to the range today and fired off my test loads. Started at 19g of 2400 (cci LPP) best was a baseball size group at 50 yards with a 2x scope. That will work for me. Gun settled with a 20.2g load. There ya go. It worked.
