I think I need some prayers next week

I am facing a scary time next week and ask for your prayers and thoughts next Wednesday.
I'm 80 so any surgery can be tricky but this has me a bit on edge. I've had 2 strokes in the past 2 months and one TIA as well. Only some minor residual damage so lucky there. The Cardiologist, the Neurologist and the Vascular surgeon are all in agreement I need to have the Carotid artery surgery to remove plaque from the artery as that seems to be the origin of the clots giving me the strokes.
All the doctors involved are top line doctors...long experience and highly thought of so I'm comfortable with that....my concern is age and also some breathing issues like my COPD that sort of complicate things....
Please help me accept things as they are and have the faith that God is guiding the surgeon's hands

In my 37 years as Pastor, I have known dozens who have gone through the same procedure and all have gone well. There was one fellow that had to have it done twice. I do not say this to minimize your concern, but to give a positive perspective.

OPOS we're praying for you. I had my left carotid cleaned out 11.5 yrs ago when I was 46. My surgery went very well and recovery was quick. The left carotid was 97+% blocked while my right side had no discernable buildup.
