this little book written by sir henry halford in 1888 bulges with information on shooting black powder rifles, out of proportion to its size.
well worth its purchase price from amazon.
halford worked with william metford from the muzzle loading era through to the days of the 303, 2 of the leading lights of rifle shooting development in the era.
the book is a distilled essence of all halford knew up until 1888.
keep safe,
bruce.

Have read the book several times. Excellent information worthy of a reference book in ones library ... https://www.amazon.com/Art-Shooting-Rifle-Henry-Halford/dp/1880677105

One thing on my bucket list is to travel to Sir Halfords estate, Wistow Hall. His long range shooting area is still there to the last of my knowledge. The estate is beautiful and several public events are held there through the year. What I wouldn't give just to spend an evening in the parlor with Halford, Metford and Gibbs.

Nearest to a converstion with Halford that I can offer is An Illustrated Interview with Sir Henry Halford (http://www.researchpress.co.uk/index.php/riflemen/biography/halford-henry/sir-henry-halford-interview). This is a reprint of a feature from 1893.

david,
have already sucked up all your stuff, and continue to do so, often on a repeat basis.
researcg press is one of the great assets we have.
i would like to see the hinman article on there too, as it contains a lot of relevent facts that seem tohave beem lost to modern guys.
keep safe,
bruce.
