SR1911 Trigger Shoe

I've been a revolver guy for decades. I recently acquired my one and only 1911 - a Ruger SR1911, standard model. This trigger seems very narrow to me, and I was wondering if anyone possibly had a trigger shoe for sale to fit this model? I note that this model has a skeletonized trigger rather than a solid trigger, so I suppose the allen screws would have to be just in the right spots.

If no one has this type of trigger shoe, does anyone have any idea where I may look to find one? Any info would be helpful.

This SR1911 is for range use only - no carry.

I tossed my $0.02 in on this topic on the Ruger Forum.

I HATE trigger shoes.

They negate the safety of the trigger guard. If they loosen they can interfere with the operation of the trigger.

They don't belong on a 1911, give it a little time, get use to it.
Oh, and that little screw going through the trigger, it should have lock-tite on it so don't mess with it. If it goes in to far the pistol will not go bang.

Yes.....trigger shoes on a 1911 are a big problem waiting to happen, and it will. The trigger should not be wider than it currently is.

For a carry gun, I concur with the notion that the trigger shoe has no place in your holster.

For a target gun, go for it. Back during my brief foray into bullseye competition,I had one on my 1911 as did many other shooters who were far better shooters than I. However, that skeletonized trigger may give you grief when you try to install the trigger shoe. You may find that you will need to replace the stock trigger with an after market one that lacks the lightening holes. You won't know until you try.
